So… Steve Jobs introduced the iPad some time ago. Now it is available for preorder and it will hit the stores on 3 April 2010.

Will it be popular? I think it will. Think about just how many people buy laptops just to have something to browse the internet, listen music and watch movies.  We are entering in to a new era of modern technology if you ask me. Just see how quick the iPhone changed the standarts of smart phones.  Just days after the iPad was introduced to the public, msi and other companies released designs for similar devices…

Some time ago we were talking with a friend about which one is better – the iPhone 3Gs or the HTC HD 2 – and he tought that the htc is better because it had better hardware. Well we went to the local store and made a test. We run some apps on both phones to test performance. We did the simplest tasks. Of course the iPhone was better, but that little test just showed that even if you have the best hardware if the OS can’t use it at it maximum then why do you need it?

Now the iPad isn’t the most revolutionary product ever, but if you think for a second you’ll see from where comes it’s magical origin. I started this article with tought about how many people buy laptops just to surf the internet and watch movies. Now with “the internet in their hands” with more battery life, less weight and better lots of things, why not to get iPad.

To the people who think that iPad is not the product Apple says it is.. call me after a few months after their competitors flood the market with “not a copy” of the iPad

iPad will be also very usefull for the business people out there as all the productivity apps like Notes, Mail, Calendar and so on are even better here, more  easy to use.

So as end to this post I will say that I’m looking forward to see iPad in action and hope Apple will get ground breaking iPhone 4G so it can stop the haters talks for a while, at least until somebody copy the design and stuff and say it’s their original…

Interesting idea but does it have future?

Atleast it’s design is nice.

I’m sure that the article on sixrevisions is writen by a programmer. If one’s going to be web designer well.. he have to know some programming yes, but then what about developing RIA? If one’s going to be print designer why does he need to know php/asp/whatever? The designer is a creative person in terms of art. Programming and drawing doesn’t mix well if you ask me. Here’s why.. one can do ’some’ programming and can do ’some’ drawing … so… what? Is that particular person good at anything or just knows some stuff? It’s a matter of mentality. The mentality for design and graphics is sooo different from the programming that  I think one can write whole book about it.

Do you know any people who are drawing from the age of 3 and their whole life is in painting and drawing? Now.. do you know people who want to be engineers since they were born?

I don’t mean the people who were told “You are going in that school and will become this and this! ” , I mean people who are truly dedicated to something? Well if you know then tell me would you work with someone dedicated in what he do or you’ll work with somebody who is just playing here and there, trying things out ?

I often laugh at  job offers where one wants ‘web/graphic designer’ and then in the job description all kind of programming and development stuff is mentioned, but art education or something like this doesn’t even exists and if it does its like “and a good eye for design is good but not really needed”. HA!

The person designing is called a designer, which is also a term used for people who work professionally in one of the various design areas, usually also specifying which area is being dealt with (such as a fashion designer, concept designer or web designer). Designing often requires a designer to consider the aesthetic, functional, and many other aspects of an object or a process, which usually requires considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment, and re-design.Being defined so broadly, there is no universal language or unifying institution for designers of all disciplines. This allows for many differing philosophies and approaches toward the subject. However, serious study of design demands increased focus on the design process

A designer isn’t only the person that “does the images” or in other words the art educated person and thats why I disagree with John Urban, the writer of the above mentioned article. Since the term designer is used for people who create the visuals and developer is used for people who do the programming part, it isn’t understood correctly.

It’s funny though that everybody are designers and as end results we see all these ugly websites, ads, buildings and what not. I have lot’s of friends who are programmers, but they know they are not good in graphics and arts. If I say in front of them that I’m a programmer like them an instant smile will be on their faces. Why? I’m interested in visual arts and thats what I do.. They have taken the time to learn how to make things, I am taking mine to learn how to make things look beautiful. Period.
